Aalborg, Denmark -- Dynamic mapping platform provider MapsPeople is pleased to announce that it has entered a partnership with Denmark based Hubart. The alliance allows MapsPeople to take a further step into the retail market and in cooperation with Hubart, enhance the visitor experience for shoppers in large malls and shopping centers by guiding users with 3D turnkey wayfinders. Due to large interest from all over the world, MapsPeople and Hubart aim to expand their joint solution from the Danish market to other high potential markets in Europe, Asia, and North America.
Founded in 2008 and owned by Evryone, Hubart is market leader in the Danish information kiosk market, specializing in development, sales, and service of interactive self service solutions. As of now, Hubart is very present in the shopping center industry with a close to 70% market share in centers with four million and more visitors annually. The Hubart infohubs are present in venues across Denmark and offer seamless designs, user-friendly interaction, and maps to inform and guide users to their destinations.
“Danske Shoppingcentre [Danish Shopping Centers] runs 18 shopping centers around Denmark that welcome 78 million customers annually. Hubart kiosks are an essential part of the shopping experience we offer and ensure accessible service and information for our visitors. Hubart is also a valuable communications platform for the center management and store tenants which is why we continue the roll-out of Hubart to the majority of our centers,” says Eva Handest, Head of Design and Concept at Danske Shoppingcentre.
The strategic alliance between Hubart and MapsPeople allows for multiple non-commercial benefits for both venue visitors and management. The integration of MapsPeople’s dynamic mapping platform, MapsIndoors, into Hubart kiosks will give users access to features such as indoor navigation and live positioning for an optimized and smooth wayfinding experience.

The collaboration will further enable venue management to get a better overview of their data. Venues, such as shopping centers, might already have access to various data. This data could be, for instance, parking availability or tracking of people ingress and egress. The MapsIndoors platform makes it possible to combine this otherwise segregated data which, along with other features based on live data, will allow management to make informed decisions based on data.
“We [Hubart] already have the knowledge on how to make a seamless user experience. With this partnership with MapsPeople, we can take this experience to the next level by implementing features such as indoor navigation and live positioning, as well as we can help venue management get a valuable and useful overview of their data, ” says Founder of Hubart, Jesper Seedorf Karlberg.
Together, Hubart and MapsPeople are developing a solution that fits venues with 30,000+ square meters and three million visitors a year.
“The demand for such a solution has been increasing over the last few years and we are investing in it because we see a great potential,” Karlberg adds.
MapsPeople agrees that there is great potential in this innovative joint technology, creating a dynamic and engaging customer experience. “We’re seeing a massive interest in non-commercial digital solutions from all over the world, and the market potential by far reaches past Denmark to markets in Europe, Asia, and North America,” says Jannik Brouwers, Chief Commercial Officer of MapsPeople.
